Pornping Tower, Charoenprathet Road
First impressions of the Porn Ping were very good. Flash lobby, very clean entrance, professional service etc. However once in the room it was noticable that this hotel is old and really the time has come for a renovation.(I am not sure if this is planned or not!) Apart from that the Porn Ping offers excellent views of Chiang Mai, excellent location (walk everywhere) and good bars (hotshots)etc. I would stay here again. |

To start - I d like to say that we eventually enjoyed our stay at the Pornping hotel and would not mind staying there again.
The GOOD:
A few steps away from the ChiangMai night bazaar for the evening shopping and dining forays.
Tour office that works with the hotel was very helpful
Breakfast was good and the staff was very nice
The room although very old, was still clean.

The BAD:
The Pornping has two wings, the old wing (6 floors) and the new wing - in the tower which is much newer. Sadly - it is not clear that rooms are in the old rooms.
The first room we received was not very nice, but we managed to get a different room with a double bed, which was ok. |
