WHAT IS INVOLVED IN PADI OPEN WATER DIVER

So you have decided to learn to scuba dive in Pattaya Thailand? Good choice our PADI instructors have more than 1000 dives each here and their experience and expertise will help you to combine dive theory and water skills as you master all scuba dive skills & safety procedures you need to dive independently. When you learn to dive in Thailand, it trains you to dive in warm tropical waters whilst you achieve the famous PADI qualified diver bench mark of achievement. This life time license can be achieved directly through this program without prior training or experience.

TRAINING OVERVIEW
5 Academic Chapters Review (Classroom/ or E-learning or E-book)

PADI’s Open water water academics is an independent study which is then later reviewed in the classroom with your instructor. Options for open water academics are:
Option 1
Book (hard copy) Students can collect the Openwater training manual before the course commences and can read and complete the knowledge questions first. This knowledge is then reviewed and reenforced with videos training sessions at the dive centre before your instructor gives you some quiz’s and tests to complete your academic training.

Option 2
is to contact us for an E-Book, we can send you a secure online code that gives you access to an electronic version of the openwater manual called an E-book. You can read this at home before you come on holiday and complete your knowledge questions first. This knowledge is then reviewed and reenforced with videos training sessions at the dive centre. before your instructor gives you some quiz’s and tests to complete your academic training. This option give you access to an online version of the openwater manual for life which is always kept up to date!

Option 3
You can complete your studies at home before you arrive using our PADI E-learning program and you’ll be ready to hit the warm waters of Thailand once you arrive with only a brief revision quiz session with your instructor. The E-learning differs from the E-book in that it allows you to view your Openwater training videos online before you arrive.

Shallow Water Confined Skill Training Sessions

The confined water sessions consist of 5 skill sessions taught in a swimming pool or the shallow snady area of a near island beach off Pattaya. This will teach you fully the necessary skills and safety procedures to be able to go into the Open Water.

Waterman Ship Tests during this session you will be asked to perfrom a 10mins float test and either a 200m unassisted swim or a 300m assistied swim using mask, fins and snorkel.

4 X Open Water Dives
Here is where you will put the classroom and the shallow water training into practice. The open water sessions consist of two surface sessions and four dives in the sea at a local coral reef island where you will be able to rehearse some training and enjoy some fun diving getting comfortable with the ocean whilst scuba diving around Thailands beautiful reefs.

Course Schedule / Duration
9am till 5pm everyday a new course starts. Average class size consists of one to four students for all classroom, pool and open water sessions. Usually the course can be completed in 3-4 days, but time and schedules can be arranged to meet your requirements.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum age 10 and ability to swim 200m unaided and without stopping

2 boat trips including lunch/refreshments
Includes a free diver log book
